Making Macro

Last night there was a display of hardware such as DSLR, zoom lens, extension, tubes and 2 times converter, Paul demonstrated how to hand hold this little lot and still manage to hand hold a flashgun on an extension cable, also he uses a ring flash, the flash has to be used since there can be 4 stops of light lost with the tubes etc. He proceeded to show projected images of insects flowers moths ...

The first competition of the new year for members of Otley Camera Club was entitled “Weather”, and all the entries reflected this from rainbow to stormy skies. Judged by Andrew Rothery, there was a range of beautiful images taken locally and internationally, but all centred on weather. This week saw the introduction of a new competition to the timetable of Otley Camera Club, entitled Leeds and Otley. In this competition members could enter any type of photo, but it must be taken between Leeds and Otley. The judge was Tony Caunt LRPS, who was generous in his comments and advice. Having had a break for half term, this week saw the Landscape competition, where members of Otley Camera Club can submit their landscape photos for appraisal by a judge. With 43 digital images and 36 prints submitted the judge David Powell of Otley Camera Club had a wide choice of subjects ranging from the local views of Fewston Reservoir to more exotic locations such as Patagonia.
