This week, Mary Richards treated its us to a fascinating set of projected images which she took as a record of a recent trip trekking in Nepal. She made an accurate journal of the event, recording the sights, sounds and general atmosphere of the places, the culture, the people, the poverty and infrastructure. Mary told us much information related to the pictures as they appeared. The trekking group were escorted by Sherpas who carried all the equipment to cater for the group and who did the cooking and guiding. They took a regular route which is extreme and arduous, then an even tougher branch which not been done before was added and explored, the event took place in 2009 and lasted three weeks. This extreme trek makes The Three Peaks Yorkshire dales hike seem like a Sunday afternoon stroll on the Chevin! Our thanks to Mary and we look forward to hearing more about her travels
