Last Thursday’s meeting was to have covered the above subject but we ran out of time, having enjoyed a very comprehensive DVD on printing, printers and processing, supplied by John. Therefore, the committee agreed “Mounts” should be covered at the next meeting. I prepared some notes and have attached them to this email, I will bring some mount samples and tapes on Thursday and will be pleased to answer any questions you may have on the subject.
I understand that Jerry will not be at the meeting on Thursday, but I know Jerry cuts his own mounts, a talent I don’t possess! I am sure that Jerry will be happy to give advice at a later date.
There are a number of online companies selling mounts and frames, the following links are just a few. Mary places orders with Cotswold Mounts for Club members and providing there are sufficient numbers the additional cost of packing and postage will be avoided. You may wish to discuss this with Mary.
The labels that were adhered to your Exhibition entries can be removed by playing a hot hair dryer over them. The silicon glue will soften and the label can be removed quite easily, it is suggested that you carefully peel the label off and gently rub the area with a clean cloth or tissue to remove the residue.
As you will know from Tony’s email, the main subject for Thursday is “How you have improved your images” hopefully you will bring some images for members see and discuss.
Please see links below mounting websites.
